Frequently Asked Questions

Working with a sports dietitian may seem intimidating, but I’m here as a resource to help you better understand the process.

  • A: Yes! One of my specialties is weight-class/combat athletes. After my internship experience at the UFC Performance Institute, I’ve been working with all levels of weight class athletes - from UFC and Bellator fighters to high school wrestlers. Working with weight class teams is one of my greatest joys!

  • A: As a sports dietitian, I’ve received training in how to accommodate dietary restrictions - such as kosher, halal, vegetarian, gluten-free, and food allergies. Your athletes are my priority, and having a dietary restriction doesn’t exclude them from receiving nutrition services.

  • A: My nutrition intervention is all with the intention to implement dietary changes that an athlete can carry with them for life, even after sports. Athletes are human first, and if they walk away from nutrition services not only understanding what/how to eat, but why, I’m confident in their ability to execute a proper fueling plan even after our time together.

  • A: Depending on your division/school governing board, working with an outside dietitian consultant may or may not be permitted if there’s already a RD on-site. Please reach out to the appropriate management staff at your location to inquire more detail.

  • A: While there aren’t any “bad” times, the off-season would be the best time to make nutrition changes.
